MEET LESLEY

New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community

Lesley Verbus is a leader who believes in the strength of Ohio’s small businesses, a loving wife with strong family values, and a proven community leader who will bring respect back to the Statehouse.

Her career began at the University of Dayton with a degree in Physics and concentration in Computer Science.  Lesley has always been interested in data-driven quality improvement, business analytics, and supporting the local manufacturing base.  Taking lessons learned working for notable companies like Goodyear, Scotts Miracle-Gro, and UnitedHealth Group, she supported the launch of a few small businesses with her husband, Scott.  Lesley has a unique ability to troubleshoot, ask the right questions, and come to creative solutions that minimize risk. Combined with her down to Earth, common-sense perspective, Lesley plans to bring her skills to the Ohio Statehouse.  She is the representative we need making decisions in the state legislature.

Lesley’s Catholic practice and love for public service are also fundamental in her daily life.  She has been a Cub Scout leader and a Sunday school teacher (Catholic catechist).  She has raised money for her church’s community center, organizes and participates in community and non-profit events raising money for local arts and community business awareness.  She even volunteers on her neighborhood HOA board.  Currently she is on the City of Marysville’s Planning Commission and the Union County Joint Recreation District board.  In addition, Lesley is on the executive board of Main Street Marysville, a Heritage Ohio program to advance economic management, public participation, and historic preservation and beautification of Ohio’s historic uptowns.  Along with various steering and advisory committees across the City of Marysville and Union County throughout her career, Lesley will bring this love of community to her work as your representative.

Lesley believes that it is her calling to support and serve others.  When asked why she is running, Lesley clearly explains “I want to amplify the voice of those being shouted over.” Lesley will fight for our interests and truly represent us.  It is time for the return of compassion and humanity in politics.  It’s time for strong community candidates like Lesley Verbus who has a history of serving her community.  With Lesley, we will bring the full community’s voice back to the people.

After learning from world-class companies in Ohio, combined with strong education received in Ohio, Lesley and her husband Scott ventured into entrepreneurship. As owners of a technology and telecommunications company based in Dublin, Ohio, Lesley and her husband are most proud to be able to employ local and diverse workers. In her personal business, Lesley’s leadership reflects a commitment to creating a workplace that welcomes people of different races, identities, and abilities. Through her company with Scott, she gives back to the community with e-waste events benefiting local organizations, such as Turning Point in Marion. For some time, her company’s division in Marysville provided the community with caring and affordable computer repair services.

Because of their success, business is growing, and together they were able to launch a second venture to provide much needed secure drone streaming services to law enforcement and first responders. They are proud to support the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, ensuring data security for first responders and to help our police force in stopping crime.

Lesley has lived in Marysville, Ohio for 17 years and she and Scott will be celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary during this campaign!  Together they are raising Scott’s son, Jacob, who attends Dublin public schools.  Despite their enthusiasm for health and fitness, Scott and Lesley are foodies and enjoy a nice meal out as much as they enjoy cooking at home together. They are devoted to their marriage, serve each other and their family daily, and work hard together to make their community a better place for everyone.

To stay active, Lesley continues to keep herself involved in various art and fitness related activities.  She has done everything from bodybuilding to community theatre; cabarets and magic shows; dance teaching and fitness instructing.  Lesley is active, she is engaged, and she is FIT for office!
